At the extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on March 26, the Minister of Economics was asked to lay down precise criteria for trade centres which are subject to operational restrictions on weekends and holidays by 26 March 2020. In fulfilling the given assignment, changes have been made to the order of the Minister of Economics setting out precise criteria for the definition of a trade centre and imposing an obligation on the state and municipal police to supervise and control the requirements set for traders at trading places and at the place for organising of trade.
The order of the Minister of Economics provides that, within the framework of order No.103 of the Cabinet of Ministers of 12 March 2020 “Regarding the announcement of the emergency situation”, a trade centre is a commercial building, which is equipped for permanent and systematic trading with a total area of at least 10,000 m2 dedicated to trade, or in which at least 10 traders or service providers are operating in separate trading places.
Therefore, we point out that from now on, on weekends (Saturdays, Sundays) and on holidays, a trade centre with a total area of at least 10,000 m2 dedicated to trade, or in which at least 10 traders or service providers are operating in separate trading place, may operate:
food shops, pharmacies (including veterinary pharmacies), optics shops, animal feed shops, shops for hygiene and household items, construction shops, gardening shops; press shops, vaccination rooms, dry-cleaning shops.
It is important to point out that catering companies are not included in food shops and should therefore be closed.
