Dangerous equipment means equipment and complexes thereof which as a result of inappropriate use and maintenance may endanger human life and health, the environment and material values and which during the use thereof are subject to the State supervision and control laid down in this Law and the checks laid down in laws and regulations. 

The list of dangerous equipment: 

  1. lifting equipment:
    1. lifts; 
    2. cranes with a lifting capacity of one ton or more; 
    3. hoists for lifting people to a height above three metres; 
    4. cable car equipment intended for the carriage of persons; 
    5. escalators and conveyors intended for the transportation of people; 
  2. boiler equipment and installations; 
  3. pressure equipment assemblies that, in accordance with the classification determined in regulatory enactments regarding pressure equipment and assemblies thereof, conform to Category III or IV; 
  4. Main pipelines carrying out work with the transfer and transportation of petroleum, petroleum products or natural gas; 
  5. equipment and assemblies thereof for the production, storage and utilisation of chemical substances: 
    1. technological equipment at service stations with a total volume of tanks more than 2,5 m3; and 
    2. stationary reservoirs and groups thereof in which it is possible to store the following quantity of fluids simultaneously: 
      1.  substances that, in accordance with regulatory enactments regarding fire safety, are highly flammable and explosive, as well as very highly flammable liquids, gases and mixtures thereof - more than 2,5 m3
      2. diesel fuel, liquid fuel and substances that, in accordance with regulatory enactments regarding fire safety, are combustible liquids - more than 10 m3; and 
      3. substances that, in accordance with regulatory enactments regarding the classification of chemical substances and plant protection products, are very toxic, toxic or harmful - more than 2,5 m3
    3. liquefied petroleum gas cylinder filling stations; 
  6. engineered structures for the metallurgical industry: 
    1. steel melting equipment; 
    2. steel rolling equipment; 
  7. road vehicle equipment for the carriage of dangerous freight; 
  8. fairground amusement equipment intended for the conveyance of people if a conveyance movement is performed: 
    1. on a vertical plane; or 
    2. on two or more planes. 

On June 2, 2025, the Amendments to the Law "On the Technical Supervision of Dangerous Equipment" will come into force. These amendments aim to improve the regulations related to the digitalization of the Dangerous Equipment Register and the duties and rights of the owners, introduce requirements regarding the duties of inspection institutions, and define the rights of the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC) to make binding decisions for the owners. 

Supervision and control of dangerous equipment shall be performed, as well as compliance with the requirements of the regulatory enactments of technical supervision shall be supervised by the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC)

Inspection bodies accredited to the national accreditation body shall perform the inspection of dangerous equipment.
